Hi,
there had been a million reason to move from iPhoto to LightRoom, but I missed the beloved KenBurns effects from iPhoto which only export in a very poor resolutions. Searching for a solution and after exploring PhotoMagico and alike I found out about MSS and SSP.
I didn't hesitate a second to spend the $20, but was sad to see that when mixing portrait and landscpe pictures, that portraits had head and feet cut off (defaulting to "scale to fill" if KB is selected) . The problem was not the wasted $20 but the fact that I still don't have a solution. Despite all its shortcomings iPhoto does that right, buy moving the portrait from left to right while moving the pane a bit up or down.
Maybe I'll take the time to buy SSP as well, to be able to see who get's it right first.
kind regards
Christian
P.S: Browsing this forum I realized that I am not the only one with this desire.
I use Lightroom, and I bought MonoSlideShow also mainly because of the KenBurns effect.
After exporting, I manually edit the .xml-file and set the KenBurns effect for each and every photo how I like it. That's the only way to do it until TTG comes up with a solution to (ab)use some metadata fields from inside Lightroom, or somebody gives us a GUI to do this (Photo to Movie http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php does that part great, but has no interface to Lightroom and exports Quicktime only).
Christoph
could you forward me an example of how you've manually edited the xml file to correct this issue.
thanks!
Well,
an example xml is <a href="http://www.horsecompetence.de/galerie/2008_5/monoslideshow.xml">here.</a>
Note that I also edit the jpgs manually, so portrait jpgs look like a landscape image with lots of background color to the left and right - watch the slideshow <a href="http://www.horsecompetence.de/galerie/aktuell_22.html">here (bear with out minipigs :-) )</a> and look for picture 4.

Hi,
There is an instant solution now, which saves the effort to use a trick, which for a 100 slide show is VERY time consuming.
http://wiki.slideshowpro.net/SSPfl/VH-VersionHistory I kind of liked MSS but this drives me to SSP.
regards
Christian
