    Hi there! I still can't solve the problem with cyrillic symbols in Title and Description. I have no Flash CS, so I have downloaded "font.swf" from web, then put it on site and changed parameters in xml to

    fontFile = "/fonts.swf"
    imageInfoTitleFont = "Arial"
    imageInfoDescriptionFont = "Arial"

    (i need Arial font or something like this to work)

    But no symbols in Title ... Just EMPTY title. Back to defaults and see only english letters, no cyrillics.

    Two questions:

    1) What code page we need to use for 100% compatibility? UTF-8?
    2) Where i can get 'font.swf' with cyr font (fonts)?

    Help dot
    Thanx a lot!

    No Title on black line ...

    font = 'arial'
    ('arial cyr' does not work too)

    fonts.swf contains 'Arial Cyr' (i hope so)

    Hi,

    utf-8 does not contain cyrillic symbols,
    please use utf-16 because it does so.

    I don't know, if the monoslideshow.swf can parse utf-18 coded xml-files.

    Good luck,

    Oops. Why it doesn't? <a href="http://www.motogonki.ru/index2.html">Look at this page</a>, central flash container shows titles and images, all titles in UTF-8 and it's cyrillic!

    Oh sorry, utf-8 is for all latin-based characters, cyrillic is greek-based and contains to utf-8 also...

    Wont it also show title and description, if you don't set a special font?
    Is title and description a field in a database?
    Is there a url where we can look?

    I think the problem with fonts that included in Package by default (they are western). But i can't understand why "fonts.swf" feature did not work. I'll dig again.

    <a href="http://www.motogonki.ru/images/gallery122/122.xml">You can check out XML by this link</a>. Looks like it's good. But fonts ...

    oops.. wrong url. now is correct!

    Still not found any solution. Dear Monokai, we need your support!

    Have you tried just specifying utf-16? It's easily done and can do no harm, doesn't it?
    Don't know if it helps you, but our German Ä Ö Ü ß etc. vanish from my slidehhows as soon as I use Dreamweaver to edit the xml (don't know why). As long as I use Notepad++, everything works.

    And now it works. Using SWFMill, UTF-8 and some "good words" ...

    I've also had better results with SWFMill than with the Flash IDE. Glad to hear it works!

    50/50 ... Sometimes IE 7.0 crashes out with exception. I have two configs - with 'fonts.swf' and without. 'fonts' crashes with every 2-3 loading, without fonts - stable work.

    I don't know what happens.

    Now running without cyrillic symbols again :(

    Ufff... I just wanted to buy your software but I found this thread. The fonts are not unicode? :-( I need characters 蚞ȊŽ. Can you include full unicode version or exchange font in the SWF itself (not to make extra font as it slows the loading then) :-(

    Hi,
    I'm in Germany with Ä Ü Ö ß and other stuff - no trouble at all without embedding fonts, that's just for the real exotic characters.

    And I am in Slovenia and there is trouble with č character as it is not part of the Western 1 alphabet. Geman characters are all part of the Latin 1 standard, č needs latin 2 or utf-8 font. I don't consider our characters that exotic ;-)

    Sorry,
    no offense meant. I tried entering č into a slideshow, but it did not show (just nothing).
    The xml is coded as utf-8, no font specified - so most likely it won't work for you without embedding a special font.

    I puit a ;-) there, no offense. We live quite near in EU, but our character sets are different :-( Thank you for trying. One could embed font, but... it raises the file by 30-50Kb and there are 2 font sets inside of the original file that just add to loading time. It would be nice if author would provide a "fontless" version and we just add our own font :-)

    2 motogonki: I'll solve this problem by checking ANSI-encoding in Notepad++... in xml-file of course... all the cyrillic symbols were replaced by something like that "?¤???‚??"... but now slides correctly show all the titles :)
