I am a student and my teacher has purchased the monoSlideshow program and we cannot get it to start. We are re-creating a website that has the slide show on it for a lesson. We have the zip file and the manual but I find it to be unhelpful. We've tried copying sample files into our xml page but we get error messages. If you have any suggestions or advice on how to get started it would be much appreciated. Please contact ASAP. Thanks so much.

    Hi,
    two suggestions:
    1) Post a link to the site where you unsuccesfully tried to implement MSS
    2) Look at working solutions like <a href="http://www.horsecompetence.de/galerie/aktuell_23.html">my website</a> and <a href="http://www.horsecompetence.de/galerie/2008_23/monoslideshow.xml">the xml that belongs to this website</a>.

After looking at the xml that belongs to you're page, Christoph, it is similar to ours. The problem is we don't know what to do with that in order to make the slide show work. Do we need to somehow link the xml to our XHTML? or ? We aren't really sure. Thanks.

Please look at GoogleCode for "swfobject.js". You find a detailed tutorial how to embed Flash within XHTML there.
If you use neither the "base" nor the "dataFile" parameter, monoslideshow expects a file called monoslideshow.xml exactly in the same directory as the calling (x)html file. You don't need to link to it.

Ok. You're going to think we're stupid but this still makes no sense. We aren't code geeks and don't really understand what everything means. But we thank you for all the data you've provided for us and hopefully we can get this to work.

Ok we have 2 images in an AP element in Dreamweaver but there is no transition between them. They are just one below the other. We copied the xml information from your page and replaced the images with our own. Where do we go from here? Please and thanks :)

    Akaler,
your questions are simply too unspecific to answer them. If you have a test site, please post a link.

The web is on a local server here in the school. Anybody outside this room can't access it. What information do you need to answer my question?

This is a screen dump of the site with the attempted slideshow.
