Vanilla 1.1.10 is a product of Lussumo. More Information: Documentation, Community Support.
We are a PBS affiliate station and are using the player as a "what's up" promo on our site. It would basically rotate through images of upcoming events/programs for that week/month. Each image links to the program page with more info. This is probably not what this app was intended for but it has such great flexibility that it fit our needs about 90% of the way. There are a couple of things that I hope you can either say how we can do it or maybe consider adding them as features in the future:
1. Thumbnail links: Would it be possible to add linking functionality to the thumbnails? It could use the same link as the main image in the XML even. The way we use it really makes the thumbnails have more of a navigation quality to them. Obviously if you make them clickable links you have a problem of being able to change the image currently showing, so that brings up #2:
2. Thumbnail mouseover: Also is there a way to change the thumbnail functionality so that a mouseover would change the current image in the view screen? So instead of clicking to change the image, you could just move your mouseover and it would change it.
3. Info link: Similar to #1, is there any way to add links to the info/description text?
This is an amazingly flexible and affordable option for anyone needing a flash slideshow, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something like this. Easy to use and visually clean design. Hopefully we can make it fit a little more closely to our purposes, but all-in-all it works great that way too.
Thanks for the great work!!!

Hi,
I think I know mostly what MSS can do and what not, and I fear the answers to your questions #1 through 3 is: Sorry, no (although the link to the image should work on the info text as well).
But now we get to the creative part. I think the thumbnails won't help you, so I would disable them completely. You could use static html (or php generated or whatever) to create something that looks like the thumbnails directly below your slideshow, put links on it etc. - would that help you?
Perhaps you can post a link to your site so we can take a look.
Christoph
We ended up making something custom for this purpose instead. We are going to probably use MSS for other things on our site, but it just didn't quite fit what we needed here. Luckily we have a great intern that is pretty sharp in Flash. Thanks for the tips though, christophvl.
