    I am trying to embed my .swf file into a webpage using Dreamweaver, just as I would any .swf file.

    The frame loads but for some unknown reason I keep getting the following error message...
    (Error loading slideShow "monoslideshow.xml".)

    Does this method of using Dreamweaver not work for this particular .swf?

    Well, the error message means you embedded MSS just fine, but it can't find its xml-file.
    Try to put monoslideshow.xml exactly where the html is (do not rename it, do not put it where the .swf-file is). Now it should work immediately.
    You can use the "dataFile" and "base" parameters to put the xml somewhere else or use another name, search through this forum for myriads of examples.
