Hi All,
I am at wits end on linking a picture to another topic. I have read the manual and seen a working site that does this, but my format/syntax is just not doing it. Here is the last of MANY iterations of trial and error: <img src="r.jpg"> <a href="../pages/gymnastics/index" target="_parent" title="This isn't easy, but he makes it look like it is." description=""/>
I'm pretty sure my tags are wrong, but can anyone show me the proper format? Many thanks for your help.
Bsquared
Hi, you have to take the manual literally.
An example would be:
<img src="r.jpg" title="Your text" link="href="../pages/whatever.html" />
Get it? You must not close the image tag, but put the link (with the word link in front of it) inside the image tag.
Christoph
Christoph,
Thanks for your reply. I do get it, but it still does not work. This is the line I put in the monoslideshow.xml file: <img src="r.jpg" title="This isn't easy." link="href="http://www.cnn.com/"> as well as many attempts to link a relative file in my site, but something is still wrong. Nothing gives me a mouse indication of a link and no jump, even to "page not found on this server".
Perhaps I am mistaken, but a click on the photo (in this case r.jpg) when it shows on the slideshow should create the jump. Other ideas?
Regards,
Bsquared
Hi Bsquared (what had your parents in mind when they gave you that name? :-)
I made a test and changed a line in a slideshow from
<img src="CVL_5265.jpg" title="" description="Fast unten, toll!" kenBurnsStart="0,0,600,400" kenBurnsEnd="75,50,600,400" />
to
<img src="CVL_5265.jpg" link="http://www.google.de" title="" description="Fast unten, toll!" kenBurnsStart="0,0,600,400" kenBurnsEnd="75,50,600,400" />
uploaded the changed xml - and could click on the picture without trouble and Google was there.
So it definitely works. Perhaps you could post a link to your test site?
Christoph
Christoph,
This is the third time for my response to your last comment, I hope it ends up in the forum this time. I think I see why it didn't.
I thank you kindly for your assistance as I got it all running as I wanted. The error I was making was so newbie that I'm embarrassed, but all is well now.
I am glad to see you have a sense of humor! Bsquared is just a screen nickname based on my initials of BB (BxB= B2).
Thanks again - Bob
Oh yes - my site is here.
