    Hi.

    I am trying to make an album with a couple of timelapse videos (Album nr.9), but MSS will not play my videos. They are made with Proshow Gold, and I have tried many different filetypes and nothing works!
    I also tried creating a flash show directly fro Proshow, but that didn't work either. that may be because both a .swf and a .flv file is created?
    The only thing that has worked so far is creating a mov file and converting it to swf, but when it has completed loading it seems that the video doesn't start at the beginning. Is there a way to convert the video to a supported codec?

    This is what the xml for that album looks like:

    <image source="slideshow/images/fjell/kjerag.swf" title="Timelapse Kjerag" thumbnail="slideshow/thumbs/fjell/kjerag.jpg" type="swf" >
    <configuration delay="13" />
    </image>
    <video source="slideshow/images/fjell/kjerag.mov" title="Timelapse Kjerag" />

    help?

    Hi egil,

    please try this:

    treat .flv file like jpg file except use <video source=.... instead of <image source=... which means put your .flv file in the same folder where your pictures are...

    for example:

    <contents>
    <image source="_EGR4405.jpg" title="Jølsterdag" />
    <image source="_DSC4205_1.jpg" title="Kveldstur på Melshornet" />
    <image source="_EGR0122.jpg" title="Uversskyer over Voldsfjorden" />
    <video source="video.flv" />
    .....

    i'm pretty sure it should work... Pro Show Gold flv file should be the same type of file that was used on the demo page at this web site (.f4v) with the exception that the extension is .flv instead of .f4v (however Pro Show is also using mp4 codec for the creation of flv files, i think, i'm not 100% sure about it, though)... when you convert your video or slide show using Pro Show Gold you will get html, flv and swf files; forget about swf file, you only need .flv file because MSS will play .flv file...

    i hope this helps,

    regards,

    ylw

    that is weird... ok, I used Pro Show Gold to test it myself... I picked one of my "leftover" small video files from China (3.4Mb .avi video clip taken with Canon digital camera), I imported it into ProShow Gold, saved it as a project, then exported as an .flv file (when I was choosing output settings I chose resolution 480X360 becasue that is the resolution of the MSS player, did you do the same??? also I chose 25 fps) so suprisinly I ended up with a .flv file which was twice the size of the original .avi file - flv file is 6.2Mb in size so I assume this codec is not mp4... anyway... later I put that file into the same folder where the pictures were (\album\images) and finally I modified the monoslideshow.xml by adding just one more line:

    <contents>
    <image source="photo1.jpg" title="title 1" description="description 1" />
    <image source="photo2.jpg" title="title 2" description="description 2" />
    <image source="photo3.jpg" title="title 3" description="description 3" />
    <video source="video.flv" title="Video" description="...kind of :)" />
    </contents>

    then I uploaded everything to http://www.yilongwei.com/test/mss/index.html and as you can see it does work... if you wish you can download my .flv file and test your installation with this file, although I think the size of my video file and the size of your MSS player is not the same so chances are it won't work again... anyway that was my two cents...

    no, that didn't work either, but I am one step closer!

    I tried to add your file to both my xml and the example-xml, and it worked with the last one! that must mean there is something wrong with my configuration somewhere..

    edit:Solved! monoslideshow.swf and xml were in different folders, when I moved them together it worked..
