Hi there,
On the demo version of MonoSlideshow it has a copyright to Monokai ... i am considering buying this product for use on a company website ... is it possible to not have this copyright on the slideshow and perhaps note it in the sourse code (i.e. then it is hidden from the normal Joe Soap user and therefore looks more professional on a company website?)
Also, i was hoping to integrate it with mySQL database of pics ... would it be possible? So instead of hard-coding the pictures into the slideshow i could show the pictures based on a database reference? Make any sense?
Cheers!
G
You can circumvent the copyright notice by loading Monoslideshow in a wrapper .swf. For database connections, I'm afraid you've got to write your own script :)
creator of Monoslideshowhow can i remove the copyright without wrapping the swf?
and how can remove the monoslideshow logo that appears when loading, and replace with my own logo??
should have this option preinstalled, after all, we are purchasing this
I too would like to remove the copyright information. I intended to use this on a clients website but I can't as is....
It looks bad! real bad...!
Whatever happened to the simple "loading" display?
Really I don't wish to sound cheap or cruel but I can't spend weeks making a website and then splash "Corporate sponsorship" or "logos" here and there...
This website is for a model, The last thing She expects is "names" other than hers or her supporters appearing for any reason...
Think about where I stand please...
You offered a price, I paid that price. Now its functions and features belong to me, make it mine!
Please.
Sorry If that was harsh, I don't beat around.
gringohh, pcjunkie, the instructions are in the Manual and in the suggestion provided above by Monokai. It isn't any harder to remove that than it is to customize the product overall. I'm not sure I see why you are criticizing. I found this to be the best slideshow tool of its type; you can't beat the price, and it seems only reasonable that Monokai might get credit for such an amazing tool... you have the options to remove any and all traces of his efforts from your final product, why gripe?
Because I have a Truly crap job, and yeah........
Ahhh
The issue is he is getting credit for it, my money...
I am paying for it because it is going into a paid project and a commercial one at that...
Like I said I can't advertise other products...
Its great yes, its cheap yes, but it still has the name plastered all over it...
sorry my bad, I just expect that when you pay for something it becomes conditionally (bar licensing , patents etc) under ownership if not outright.
And you are right.
XE gallery is a non event......
It just didn't work
Having paid for it.....meh.
Same with IL gallery....
I just want something that works, I am paying, I don't want tags!
And the price will only sell more.....
The copyright notice will be an option in the next version, so you can easily disable it without a wrapper.
creator of Monoslideshowwhen can we expect the next version?
Somewhere beginning of next month.
creator of Monoslideshowfree upgrade?
Of course :)
creator of Monoslideshownice, thank you!
Does the recently released Monoslideshow v1.3 (April 5th, 2007) have the preference to disable the right-click Copyright notice and the logo that appears when loading?
After reading the user manual (as of v1.3, rev 1 — 05 April 2007) it appears that the startup logo and the copyright information can be suppressed in the slideshow by setting two simple JavaScript variables — see page 4 in the user manual for more information.
I have yet to purchase Monoslideshow and base this analysis solely after reading the user manual.

Yes, both the copyright and the startup logo are easily inhibited now.
