i'm investigating a solution where my server would use comet / reverse ajax to push new images to monoslideshow while it's already running. is this possible?
Yes,
you can put the xml right into the html page where you could change it with js and then force mss to reload it. I haven't seen that, but it should work.

turns out it wasn't important for real time push, so I just used onAlbumEnd="reloadDataFile" in the xml config : )
