First let me say: great piece of work!

But... I found a little bug. Mozilla 1.7.12 doesn't show the mark thingy. IE6 does it correctly.

As for the suggestion: I hope MSS 1.2 will feature a separate album, thumbnail and image area, so you can have a full screen viewer, and a lazy user only needs 2 clicks to get to ANY image in the database. That would be cool!

I'm buying MSS anyway, it's much better than simpleviewer and slideshowpro in my humble opinion, and seeing the speed of updates, this might be a winner.

Oh, and after playing with mss for a while, there's some other minor bugs I found, if you will...

    - Pressing forward, back or play/pause during an image transition doesn't do anything
    - The hover tags in the album window don't do anything
    - The image info doesn't change over until the image transition is complete, would be more logical to do it simulateously
    - The Ken Burns animations sometimes end in a slight "snapping into place" of the image.

You know what they say, don't shoot the messenger.... just trying to be helpful.

Thanks for noticing, Fuzzphoto. Help appreciated :)

I'll make a note of your suggestion. Furthermore:

    - It's right that pressing the controls during a transition won't do anything. This ensures smooth playback all the time.
    - Can you elaborate on this? The album hovering does work here... The album descriptions appear next to the album.
    - There's reason for this. Flash isn't very CPU friendly. Two transparency transitions and Flash will quickly hog your CPU. If the transitions are performed after eachother, this will relax your CPU. And your visitors :)
    - Hmm, will look into this, maybe some weird rounding-off errors.

Hey thanks for the clarifications. Seems you had to make some trade-offs to let things run smoothly. Apparently even Flash has its limitations.

    About the hover thing:

Thumbnail view has the ability to lift the thumbs with 'thumbnailHoverDistance' and 'thumbnailHoverShadowSize', while the manual says the album view has the same options, but they're not parsed.

I just noticed the same thing (albumHoverDistance and albumHoverShadowSize) do not work, when I use these attributes, mss won't start, saying the attributes are undefined.

You're both correct. I'll update the manual. These values were leftovers from a very early test version.

Also, maybe I am getting the feature wrong, but when I put a 'albumWindowColumns' attribute in the preferences tag, it seems to ignore it. I tried settings that value to 1, to get only 1 column with a couple of albums below each other, but it just put both albums I have next to each other.

    You'll have to set albumWindowAutoSize="false"
