After playing around with monoslideshow for months now i decided to keep it simple and use it on my front page. I tried the flikrMSS thing and its great but in the end i decided to go for the 20 image feed as it suits well in the site. Flickr is pretty heavily used in my site and i love it. Feeds all over the place. Also credit to lytebox for those nifty pop up boxes that allow me to feed flickr slideshows into.

Hope you all like it and thank you monoslideshow!!!! kick ass bit of kit and well worth the pennies.

That looks nice! How can you add that special fade-outs?

    Love your site...

Lytebox: How did you get the controls for Flickr to work inside your Lytebox iframe?

flickrMSS: Preferences propagate into the xml file but I see nothing for accessing my photos on flickr. "No images found in .XML-file."

    A. Check the docs for all the juicy details: http://www.monoslideshow.com/monoslideshow_manual.pdf you will find the bubbles effect as part of the image transition setting.

    A. I think i just replied to you in email but here i am so... i think it has something to do with the hide flash setting in the lytebox.js file. remember to delete your browser cache when your testing changes. all of a sudden it just worked for me after alot of experimentation. i have had reports however that on the mac os system it doesnt always show the flickr page in the frame.

also you might want to load other pages in like google.com just to re-assure yourself that it does infact work. the flickr slideshow is all flash so im sure its something to do with that.

    hope that helps a bit.

hey loko great site and implementation

I was wondering how you get the overall pre loaded layout of your site

I'd love to set it up myself with pre cached/loaded pages and on my main page have links to different galleries which would open up MSS in Lytebox and for the other pre loaded pages like your photos, contact, shop, etc have various sections for posting other things up

is there any template you followed or any tips you can throw at me? thanks!

hello samo9090. glad you like the site. no real template used other than the standard spry tabbed panels insert in dreamweaver. heavily modified css to fit my needs and i also repositioned the whole spry to absolute. its the first time i have used these so still very much a newbie but there is loads of docs on how they behave. its all about hiding and showing content so all the content is loaded in one single page and the tabs control whats hidden and whats not. im still playing with it and like it very much. lots of possibilities i think. the great thing about spry is that its so easy to edit and update and its only one page. index. if you have any test site links would be happy to take a look. as far as tips go i guess all i can say is be patient. i have been at it for so long now and come up with many crazy designs but finally im happy to let this one be the one. for now anyway. oh yes, and browse. get stumble upon and browse all over, save sites to your hardrive and open them in your web editor to see how they work. check out there css files. that kind of thing. its slow process but it gets you right involved. good luck!

Hey ds 10. thanks for your comments. I did not try shadowbox but lytebox works a treat. To answer your questions...

    1. how did you get mss to load so quickly on the front page ?
    A. mmmm, not sure to be honest. The images are not that big.

    2. how can i add the makepovertyhistory.com tag on the side?

    A. real simple.. add this code to the page you want it on:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/whiteband_small_right.js"> </script><noscript><a href="http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/" border="0"> http://www.makepovertyhistory.org</a></noscript>

You can change the size and position too. Go to http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/getinvolved/ for more info.

    Thanks again.
