    Hi,

Has anyone experienced any memory problems when using monoslideshow? The memory usage on our site is gradually creeping up everytime the user opens/refreshes a page with monoslideshow on, this is eventually making it unusably slow for users with lower spec machines.

I saw one post on this from some time ago - but no resolution... can anyone help/advise?

    Thanks

    Yes, it's http://gambia.book-secure.co.uk:8000/

I've tested it with and without the slideshow and that seems to be what's causing it to creep up...

    Thanks for looking into it.

Hmmm, I can't replicate the error. I've tested it in Firefox on OSX, running Firebug to check all net connections, but all seems fine here?

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I'll explain how I'm testing it in case that helps... I'm working on Windows with IE7, using the Task Manager to show the memory usage. If I open our site and then go to another site and back to our site a few times you can see the usage creeping up each time you go back to the site. We've tested this against when the slideshow is disabled and the memory usage will then remain at a consistent level each time you return to the site.

Hope this makes sense and may help..?

    Thanks,

    Lindsey

I have tried it again on Safari and Firefox on OSX, looking at the Activity Monitor, and it works fine in both browsers. Does the usage creep up at www.monoslideshow.com as well?

Yes it does the same on monoslideshow.com. The problem seems to be an Internet Explorer/monoslideshow problem so you will need to test it with IE to see it. Do you have access to IE to check this? With this being the most popular browser we won't be able to continue using monoslideshow unless this is resolved.

    Thanks.

I've tested this, but I don't see memory leaking on IE7 on Windows. Very strange. This problem has never been reported before either. Do all Flash components have the same memory issue on your system?

Nope, no other flash components have the same problem - just this one. It happens on all sites with monoslideshow on so we can't see what else it could be apart from this component.

I've got the same problem with Firefox 2 on a Joomla rockettheme website.
The website I am preparing is www.e-anadasosi.gr

It seems that after 1-3 minutes firefox is not responding, in fact my PC is not responding at all. I checked it by disabling the monoslideshow module and everything seems to work perfectly, so sth is happening with the .swf.
I am also using a fonts.swf to support arial/verdana fonts (build using swfmill) for the greek letters.

*I also have problems loading on IE7, although I tried everything that is reported to this forum.

    Tx.
